A strong collaboration between business and academia is the key factor in creating a suitable environment for the students to develop and gain knowledge, experience and skills. Mindware Solutions has a long and successful partnership with Transilvania University of Brașov which was the base for numerous success stories. From providing support for PhD research or coordinating BSc and MSc projects to internships and granting private scholarships, our main focus is on students and their needs.

Mindware Solutions has begun a strong volunteer program which includes teachers and parents that are willing to help the schools during the COVID-19 crisis. With the help of our hardworking volunteers, we provide the necessary aid for the schools to transition to online teaching during the pandemic.

The main objective of the STARGATE-MIPS project is the development of a fully functional prototype for a low-cost satellite gateway based on an embedded Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform. The developed prototype, implemented as a standalone RF platform, is able to route data between the satellite and M2M/IoT applications, covering on the terrestrial side the most common short range wireless protocols and standards. The satellite link is assured by adapting typical lightweight up- and downlink protocols, already implemented and tested in completed ESA projects. Mindware Solutions has been in close contact with the STARGATE-MIPS team since the beginning of the project. We provided our knowledge and expertise as well as hardware resources which contributed to a successful completion of the project.

The intention of the project is to realize a new framework for an embedded control unit with touch screen display which can be used stand alone (without any network or Internet connection). The concept is realized with STM32 development board with touch screen display as main control unit, Arduino for the sensor nodes controlling and the wireless data transfer with XBee.

Streaming services have became one of the most efficient content delivery mechanism. From offering original content such as movies, series and product marketing, streaming services have a wide spectrum of applicability and gained an increased interest from both home users and industry. With this new preferred method for delivering visual media to viewers, the TV industry introduced the HbbTV (Hybrid Broadcast Broadband Television), a global initiative which harmonizes the broadband and broadcast delivery of various services (including streaming services) via a single device (connected TV, set top box).

This will be based on common and cheap hardware which is available and can be used by any developer from amateur to professionals.
This paper presents an automated test execution environment designed to analyze the accessibility, reliability and streaming performance of an end-to-end Hybrid broadcast broadband TV (HbbTV) solution. Its purpose is to provide the means for the TV providers to test their HbbTV solution by simulating real-world scenarios and online functioning in a local, offline environment, before making it available for the end users. This way, common problems like server overload, poor streaming quality and HbbTV incorrect functionality can be foreseen and corrected.
